The Sacrament of Baptism is very sacred, and a very important moment for both children and parents.
Parents and godparents who would like to baptize their children at St. Joseph are asked to complete a preparation session led by the pastor or one of our deacons prior to their baptism. These sessions review the responsibilites taken up by parents and godparents, as well as the symbols and structure of the Rite of Baptism.
Godparents must be Catholics in good standing. If they are married, they must be married through the Catholic Church and should have a certificate from having celebrated that sacrament. Godparents should be prepared to present a letter of permission from their parish pastor to fulfill this role at the Rite of Baptism.
Baptisms at St. Joseph Catholic Church are scheduled with the parish office. Baptisms normally take place within the Sunday Mass. Please contact the parish office for more information.
